Could anyone give me more info about the research about dioxins in
breastmilk, that was mentioned in French newspapers?

I would like to add the research to my homepage about this issue, and also
send it to the special "environmental pollution" commission of
"Borstvoeding Natuurlijk". This will cause another bunch calls of very
concerned mothers. We want to be as much up to date as possible, so that we
can react as correct as possible.

About 2 weeks ago there was a big article in Knack, a Belgium magazine,
with a terrible article in it, how dangerous human milk was for premies,
since 10% of the Belgium mothers have dioxin levels which are way too high.

It was from a professor , P. Schepens from the University of Antwerpen, who
wants to receive money from the government to investigate the issue. He
wants to develop a method to 'clean up' pumped milk from dioxins.

The article was terrible. It was not only not based what he said, but also
full of insinuations of bf advocates and organizations. Eg LLL 'wanta HIV
pos mothers to breastfeed' (he said). The chairwoman of VZW the Belgium bf
organization got lot of flack in the article. :(
