dear cindy,

those of us who are LLLLeaders may do email help forms (i do two a week or
more), and although i don't know the source of your questions, perhaps someone
who doesn't get a response from you then goes on to ask LLL. just like doing
phone help calls, there tend to be "patterns" sometimes (i swear sometimes it
is insufficient milk week or returning to work and pumping week).

today i had a call from a mother using a "parenting program" (yes, babywise)
and we had a long talk about it. she was proud her son slept through the night
(12 hours!), but was complaining about insufficient milk following weaning for
a week because of pain meds (aargh, that's a quote). i worked up to the point
of trying to explain her son's long sleep as a sort of despairing adaptation
to getting no response to his needs at night. she finally said she also had
dr. sears' book christian parenting. i urged her to listen to her instincts
and read more dr. sears. i think it may have worked. i am so grateful for that
little out of print volume.

i mentioned to this mother that many professional groups disapproved of this
program. she pointed out that a PEDIATRICIAN had helped develop this plan. i
am so sorry to say this is a local colorado person. hey rob, can't you drum
this guy out of your group?

end of rant. probably just a coincidence cindy, or maybe the next person
getting the email query is looking to lactnet for answers.
