I know tht we've discused prozac before but this situation is a little
different. Mother of helthy 7 month old dx obsessive-complusive before
pregnany and successfully treated only with prozc. She did try other
medications. She quit taking the drug for the first trimester and resumed it
at a much lower dosage during the second and third trimesters. Now at 7 months
post-partum and exclusively bfg she feels stron need to resume taking the
pre-partum 80 mg dose as her symptoms are increasing and starting to interfere
with her daily life.

The literature states tht a 6 week old infant experienced "colic": inc crying,
loose stools, wakefulness and had blood levle of both ithe drug and its
metabolite fr in excess of it's mother.

But this is a 7 month old child who is just beginning solids. The mother is
willing to carefully watch her son for any side effects if she resumes the
higher dose but is also concerned about long-term effects. Can anyone address
these issues?

Thanks
