The women in your hospital are lucky to have you.  A mom who went to 
ours recently told me that the anesthesiologist came in to tell them 
how great epis were, that is couldn't get to the baby, no effect on 
breastfeeding, etc, etc.  If there was any mention of side effects, she 
didn't remember hearing it.  I also hear tales of women being told, 
"This is your last chance or it will be too late!  Do you really want 
to be a martyr?"

I would hope that this is just about a few renegade anesthesiologists, 
just like some of the horror stories about a small group of not-so-hot 
IBCLCs out there.
