At this past ILCA conference I attended a class on repeated infections.  The upshot was that it's not recurrent infections; it's the same infection that has not gone away.  And it's almost always going to be bacterial, not fungal.  Basically, the mom has to go on a long course of antibiotics: six weeks.  IMO, she also needs to take lots of probiotics as well, 100 billion organsisms/day at times offset with the antibiotics, or she will end up with a fungal infection.  I just went looking through my handouts and couldn't find the study.  I think I have to search online for it.  It's good for the moms to have something in hand to give to their doctors.  I think the other point made was that you want to culture the milk so the antibiotic can be specific to that organism.
