Ellen,
I breastfed my son while I had mononucleosis. That was 13 years ago. My son
didn't develop any symptoms. One of my most difficult symptoms at the time
was the fatigue associated with mono. I quit full time work to be able to
continue breastfeeding prior to being diagnosed, as I had thought that
trying to work plus looking after a 6 month old and a 2 year old was the
cause of the fatigue. When I was diagnosed I continued to bf, but no
concerns had been raised at the time. I will be interested in the responses
to breastfeeding while having mononucleosis.
Beth RN, IBCLC
