Dear All,
I'm resending this as i'm hoping someone can comment on this phenomenon:

Throughout my work as an LC and running mom's support groups I have
come across a subset of babies who begin refusing to nurse in sitting
positions
and will only nurse with mother lying down. It seems to happen between
3-5 months and there
is usually a hx of reflux, hyperlactation, allergies, teething or
sensory
issues.
I was wondering what you all suggest for this situation. My approach
has been to look first at primary causes and assist with these issues
but once the baby gets
wired into this mode it can take a while if ever to reverse it. I
suggest many
different positional changes to " trick " the baby to rewire them.

If anyone has more insight I would love to hear from you. As I say I
have been observing this for years and wish there was more info on this
phenomenon.

From my experience some out grow this, some moms have to wean and a
very dear friend of mine whose son did this for a long time was
diagnosed with
Autism.

Suggestions, insight......
Best,
