Hi there!  I'm a long time LLL Leader and now a graduate student in the
Masters in Library Service program at Rutgers University, here in New
Jersey, USA.  I'm contacting you all today for some ideas about a class
project I'm doing. My apologies to those of you who are reading this
twice, as it is cross posted to both LACTNET and LLLOL.  Hope you'll send
me some suggestions . . .

The assignment is to _design_ an indexing system/database for a
collection of materials on the topic of our choice.  I've decided to make
mine on breastfeeding materials - not a surprise!  The focus of the
project is on providing access to the content and meaning of the
materials, not author/title/publication cite, etc.

The collection does not have to exist, but can be just conceptualized
(i.e. it can have in it whatever I say I want in it).  Money is no object
- remember this is a conceptual project, so I've conceptualized a
generous grant which will allow me to make it just the way I want it to
be!  While I have to justify the feasibility of the technical aspects,
don't hesitate to make suggestions even if you have no idea how they could
be done.  Let me worry about that end of it.

My questions for you all:
        * What types of materials would you expect to find in this
_perfect_ index to breastfeeding information? (Are there some types of
materials you would think should not be included?)

        * What kind of questions would you want this indexing
system/database to answer about the materials in the collection?

        * What features would you particularly want/like it to have?

        * Any other thoughts you would like to share?
