You can find a great deal more information on blood in stools by searching
the archives of Lactnet.  Just type in "bloody stools."  The reason that the
mom would want to eliminate beef is because it is bovine protein that can
cause the problem.  Therefore it would be in both the dairy products and the
beef.  I believe you will find that this info came from a call to Dr. Ruth
Lawrence's hot-line.  (I did a search on this topic not too long ago!)
