Arly,
I use a Canon EOS A2E camera with a 50mm macro closeup lens and a ring light,
a special flash that prevents overlighting of closeups with normal flash. The
whole setup was well over a thousand dollars (US). The reasons I chose this
system:
autofocus and autoexposure, though you need to set the camera to a fixed
exposure time when using the ringlight, there is a special code to put in,
once done you don't have to worry about it again.
eye controlled focus- the camera determines which of five zones you are
looking at, and focuses most tightly on that one. This is great for getting
accurate closeups of little suck anomalies.
multiple exposure capability- this camera can shoot continuously, to give a
sequence of images.
My physician brother independently purchased the same camera, lens and
ringlight to take photos of his dermatology patients! He also bought the
remote control cable and a tripod. He lives in another state, and we just
happened to not mention camera shopping to each other, though we do discuss
computer shopping regularly...
