Help! My daughter is about to be kicked out of her second babysitter. For
those who don't remember, this is the one that used to take a bottle- until
6 weeks. I want to mention a few things. When I posted then, many people
wrote- well, just bring her with you to work. Have you ever tried it? I
am interested to hear how people do it. She is not always quiet, and I
feel when I am working with a mother she needs my full attention. I was
tense, I could not concentrate, and she sometimes cries! When women are
postpartem, they are not interested in someone else's crying baby. I
carried her around for a few days in a snugly- Besides being totally
exhausting to hold her for 4 hours straight, I could not assist in latch on
for moms because her body was in the way of my vision. Don't you all lean
over moms to help them? The only good thing is that she is a VERY good
advertisement for a fat totally BF baby. It gives the mothers the desire
to stick with it! How do you bring your baby with you in work? I feel
this is nice in theory, but practically, you don't do your job well and you
don't mother well.
So she screams by the babysitter. We have tried everything. Just to
review- Bottle, syringe, cup, the babysitter's breasts (full of milk). I
am so torn. She is so good with me. Does this mean I quit?
This post was just to show the other side of a nice theory that we may
advice moms- maybe not so practical for all....
Any advice and encouragement- I appreciate.
Regards,
Jessica Billowitz, IBCLC
Israel

ps- she is 4 1/2 months
