For any who want references for the length of time a baby might
breastfeed before surgery.  Both these suggest up to three hours.

Schreiner MS. Preoperative and postoperative fasting in children.
Pediatric Anesthesia. 1994;41:111-120 (Children's Hospital of
Philadelphia, so no cottage hospital with weird ideas).

Litman RS, et al. Gastric Volume and pH in infants fed clear liquids
