I love the idea of telling a pediatrician and/or sending a letter re care.
I know that my son's pediatrician is less that optimal when it comes to infant
nutrician. I also know that some IBCLC's in my area have bumped head with him
before.

There are two reasons I stay with this pediatrician. First, he was well enough
educated when my son was born to recognize a major congenital heart defect
that no one else recognized- there by saving his life. Second, this doctor
respects me enough as a parent and a professional that he will discuss formula
vs breastmilk with me and I can call him on things- like bad advice given a
parent - that others bump heads with him about. I feel its my duty to educate
him as best I can. I havent gotten the formula samples out of the office yet,
but at least they are out of sight of new parent now.

By all means find a pediatrician that is well educated if you can , but if not
we have got to educate the ones we've got.
