FBorFW is one of my all time favorite comics. I have all the books by Lynn
Johnston, going back to when I first started teaching Lamaze in the late 70's
and used cartoons from "Hi Mom, Hi Dad!"

Having been following it forever, for those of you that remember, her baby
"April" was born at home during a storm and was breastfed for quite awhile.
Great strips on breastfeeding -- I've got every one of them. And when
Michael's friend Gordon, and his wife Tracey had their first baby, she
breastfed. I don't think we have to worry about Deanna -- she'll be nursing,
I'm sure.

And while we are on the subject of comics, the other great one is Baby Blues.
Wanda is pregnant with number 3 -- as you may recall, she breastfed "Hammie"
for at least 2 years, and maybe more. That story line too had a lot (even
more) of wonderful breastfeeding and co-sleeping strips. My dh saves all of
the Tempo sections of the Chicago Trib for me when I travel so I don't miss
either of my two favorite comics. Never can tell when I'll get some fodder
for either my clients or my students!

So if there is anyone out there in Lactnet Land that doesn't routinely read
the comic strips, you better start!

Jean Cotterman has also sent me several "Marvin" strips which is also
terrific. One I have in front of me has the dad saying, "Okay son, here's
your bottle." (Obviously a middle of the night scene.) Next frame is Marvin
holding his bottle, "Rats. I keep hoping some night this place will offer a
two-for-one drink special."

So you can remind your moms that's exactly what they are able to do -- offer
their babies a "two-fer...."

Thanks Sandra for some great memories!
