Just to say that I wasn't suggesting the clinicians counsel moms 
along these lines, but that in framing the public discourse, shifting 
to the baby's rights might be helpful. I know it gets tiring trying 
to battle the popular mindset of "life must be easy." I don't even 
try to suggest breastfeeding to pregnant moms I run into anymore--
it's not worth my energy. (Perhaps now representing abused and 
neglected kids has something to do with it--the parenting I see is so 
abymsal.)
