Wouldn't pumping and dumping throughout the treatments eliminate this
concern?

"The other thing to know about this is that it is best to wean completely
before the radioactive iodine is given, if possible.  It is NOT good to
nurse up to that day, and stop suddenly, because the I-131 is actually
concentrated in breastmilk...so radioactivity will be concentrated in
the lactating breast, which is said to increase breast cancer risk.
