Hi Leigh,
 
Looks like Hale says its not a big deal for cortisone and thats directly on the nipple. And, there is 1% hydrocortisone mixed with the other 2 ingredients for the over the counter nipple ointment you can mix yourself. I wouldn't think a shot would make a difference. Let me know tho, if you call Hale. Good question.

I have permission to post.

Mother is 5 weeks postpartum and has a vertebral arterial dissection that is
affecting her functioning associated with C5 in her spine.

A cortisone injection will be in her spine.  She is concerned about the drug
and breastfeeding.

Is there any information regarding the Injection of cortisone that would
cause an adverse effect on breastfeeding.

I have already checked "Medications and Mother's Milk" but have not yet
called Hale's hotline.
