Dear friends,
Not every European woman has good maternity leaves, especially not those representing European people in the European Parliament. But Denmark rep Hanne Dahl just takes her 2 week old baby with her when returning to vote: <http://english.people.com.cn/90001/90783/91321/6624008.html>
In a Dutch newspaper interview she states that she is setting up a new standard by breastfeeding her child when it needs to be, even if that happens to be during an appointment with the chair of the EP. BUt she is working on a proposal to have parenting (both moms and dads!) leave for European Parliament personnel.

Warmly,

Gonneke, IBCLC, retired LLLL, MOM in southern Netherlands
