I have been asked to speak for 1 hr at a nicu conf in june. i accepted. conf
is still being put together by folks at a hosp where i worked for many yrs.
very informal, no contracts and they are not even sure they will give an
honorarium. i decided i would talk for free. that part was ok. naive me
didn't think to ask about sponsorship. since this was being put together
rather informally i didn't even think about that. however i heard from
someone that ross labs is a co-sponsor and is doing the printing of the
syllabus and probably the brochures. dont' know the other sponsor(s) or what
more ross will be providing (lunch?). it is local so i could just arrive for
my talk and then leave. i could back out, talk and not accept any fees (if
any offered), ask that a disclaimer be put in brochure, etc. what do you see
as being the best course of action. i tried accessing the archives becoz i
think some of this has been discussed before, but couldn't access them
today. i want to make decision asap to let them know. i should remember in
future to ask about these affiliations. please cc to my email. thank you.
