I'll start out easily, for my mildly SID child (he's my Holland child in the
archives) breastfeeding was the only thing in his babyhood that went well!
Go figure.

But that is what I love about this profession, as soon as parameters are
established, someone comes along who is an exception. I always tell Moms,
it's the nature of working with humans -some just seem to be born to prove
eveyone wrong.

On the wave thread, my only problem, is that you forgot to mention the rocks
in the water. That is where I am now, had to take some down time to tend to
nicks and scratches caused by various situations and people that had me
truly thinking "Is this really where I want to be?" The answer came to me
last week, in the form of words I had written a couple of years ago - "I do
this work, not for the money, but for the babies." So I am keeping on for
now.

And for Barb W.- you and I need to talk. My - "The second I turn 18 I'm
moving out" - daughter is getting married too. I still marvel that she
calls me almost daily - can this be the same child?!? She is 22, maybe it's
something about being born around then that made them such hard teenagers.
She too now thinks of me as her best friend - I love it. Unfortunately, she
was not as considerate of me as your daughter was. I was recovering after a
hysterectomy when she told me she was getting married (November 2000) and I
leave in 11 days for the wedding (oh, did I forget to tell you I'm in Texas
and she's in California). We have survived, and I do think that this affair
will go off without a hitch (ok, that's wishful thinking on my part - I
enjoy a good fantasy now and then).

As far as what I want to be when I grow up - still working on that -
hopefully I'll figure it out before I die!!! But in the meantime, the
various things I have done over the years have certainly been interesting.
