We had a mother at our group once that had two sons.  The first had been
bf for about 6 weeks and had numerous ear infections and eventually tubes
in his ears.  Her second son was bf for almost two years.  He also had
what I would consider a lot of ear infections for a bf child but much less
than her first son.  I loved having her at meetings because she had a
child that, had it been her first, may have made her doubt the benefits of
breastfeeding.  But since she saw how much sicker her first had been she
often told her story to new mothers and I think made a huge impact.
