During the first Gulf War mothers of infants were shipped out at 6 weeks. A
Navy JAG officer, stayed with me for a couple of weeks to process hardship
requests at a nearby base. One night he told of a request from a mother of a
BF six-week-old; she was denied. (I was BF a 12-week-old and cried at the
story.) Thereafter, I wrote letters to my congressmen and senators.
