Nursing Mothers in Australia have little plastic bags that hold about 6-8 oz
that they sell with a 'zip' top for freezing and storage of Breast milk. If
however like Myself, living in Tassie, in a non access area, I used Lunch
sandwich bags in a small straight sided jug and cooled then froze the days
excess, for a later date(1967-74) and I have done the same with other
Mothers since.
Here in Pakistan it just doesn't work as the milk is not stored for more
than 24 hours if fridges available!
Freezers are not cold enough in Household fridge's to successfully store EBM
also the Power supply is not satisfactory!
Ice cube trays need to be sterilized or very clean, stored and separated
from the other wash-up to be totally successful as the plastic absorbs
'grease' from Breastmilk.
Good luck,

Have another question from my breastfeeding support group. One mother asked
if she could freeze her breastmilk in ice cube trays, pop them out when
frozen, and transfer them into a freezer safe bag. I really see no problem
with this, except for the fat and some antibodies sticking to the side of
the ice cube trays. I used to freeze my home made baby food like this and
it worked great. Any comments? Thanks, Linda
