Is baby teething or does baby have teeth? At this age I can think of several other reasons. Baby's saliva changes and can cause some rashes when mom has sensitive skin. But since the rash is only in one part it sound to me like baby is rubbing teeth against the nipple. Have latched checked and make sure she has changed position due to the baby's growing size. See if the straddle or cowboy hold helps with her older baby. That would be my suggestion.
