My little informal study years ago with early discharge moms found that
babies begin to gain again by day 4. If not, something was a problem,
mom's, baby's or both. Whether it is TT or infrequent feeds or missing cues
etc. I still feel that if a baby is not gaining by 1 week, even if it is
just from discharge weight back to birth weight it needs investigating.

Personally, I would lay off discussing whether or not her breasts are
adequate. She will only feel inadequate and the downward spiral begins. PS.
I have widely spaced breasts that sort of point outward. Didn't seem to
affect my supply. Putting that seed in her mind isn't helpful, you need to
wait and see.

Rule 1: Feed the baby
Rule 2. Maintain or increase the milk supply
Rule 3. Get help (and I don't mean grandmom :-( You are too emotionally
involved and it's your DIL. It's not the same as me helping my daughters!

There must be an LC or LLLL near MA who will come over.

I'm sorry to sound so pushy, but I think you need to step back, let skin to
skin, frequent feeds, pumping, & clipping tongue work.
Take a deep breath. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
