Dear All,

 

Multipara, 6th birth. Always suffered from sore nipples and mastitis first
month, mainly due to poor management . eg infrequent breastfeeding sessions.

 

Then would approach me and we'd correct the situation.

 

The photos she sent and the verbal description mirror the previous
occurrences.

 

She would then bf by demand,  take ibuprofen as needed, cicliderm c as per
md's prescription and needed shields . The whole process til weaned of
shields would take about 3 weeks.

 

 

Has moved to the London UK, and asked me about the use of silver to remedy
nipple sores.

 

I've  no experience with silver and it seems that my local colleagues don't
either.

 

Hence I'll appreciate re any info you choose to proffer re your opinions,
feedback re safety, contraindications, can it be used simultaneously with
other meds, experience with the use of silver, as in silver shells or in any
other form (eg liquid) to promote nipple wound healing?
