Jonathon,
I agree, but the problem is HOW do we it without pissing people off and
making ourselves look like radicals with a capital R?  If we come on too
pushy, we lose respect and validity.  The ABM companies have really sucked
the public in good, and it is our job to Gently inform people of the truth.
It is hard for people to realize and accept that those they think are so
wonderful are really lying &#%^$*& out only to get their money and hurt the
babies.  If there was some way to advertise the truth about what many of
these companies have done and the fatal effects of ABM then people would
start to understand.  However, I knew NOTHING about what these companies did
and about the harmful effects of ABM until AFTER I got into this field.  My
own family doesn't believe me when I tell them the truth.  My mom says
"Formula saved your life so it must be good."  My sister, "Formula is just as
good as breastmilk, and you alsways know how much your baby is getting."
 Well, we all know my sis is just plain wrong, and as for my mom, I suspect,
from her description of what I did (threw up everything she fed me, including
breastmilk,  the only thing they tried that worked was prosobee and by that
time I was severely malnourished and almost dead.) that I either had severe
reflux, or more likely a severe milk allergy.  Milk allergy runs in the
family, and I think that had she taken all dairy out of her diet I would have
been fine.
Anyway, the point is that I get frustrated too, and want to tell everyone
that they have to BF their babies because ABM is so bad, but like I said,
these people have been conned and it will take time and $$ to help them see
the truth.
So, anyone have a couple hundred million dollars for an advertising campaign?
