I agree totally and I said it! Kathy, I think I must have not made it
clear that I am an evangelical Christian who practices modesty and firmly
believes in discretion in breastfeeding in public. So, my comment about
breastfeeding in public as sin is nonsense was made out of frustration from
someone who is in the churches and best friends with these dear mothers and
agrees with them on nearly everything. I only meant to convey that from
*our* scriptures, breastfeeding is seen as beautiful, God-provided, very
good, and godly (God Himself is likened to a nursing mother in His care for
His people.) It frustrates the death out of me to have *my brethren* make
it sound lascivious and sinful. As *one of them* I believe this is a
theological error. I now realize that this was not the way to say this
<LOL> I meant to reread the post this morning and send it after rethinking
the wording, but my very dh sent it for me before I got up =:-O

I must say, that when I read the original post, I was cringing wondering
what the responses would be and how harsh. I have been extremely pleased by
the understanding and respect shown by those on the list and I say that as
one who both finds herself in more agreement with the modest mothers than
many of my friends on the list and who nurses her babies absolutely anywhere
(ask anyone who knows me :-).

Melanie
