Namoi you wrote,
"Among the list of possible uses for
such animals is developing milk for (human) infants
with antibodies in them. Does anyone know any more
about this?"

Yes, I have been posting about this for awhile I'd say. It was probably the
Roslin Institute which is connected to PPL of Scotland which is connected to
Wyeth which is connected to Nestle which is connected to everyone....The
reason for a good share of the 628 patents on human milk has alot to do with
this. It's called pharming. There are herds of these ge'd animals. For
example, the human gene for lactoferrin was genetically engineered in the
80's. So now they rearrange the bovine embryo's gene for lactoferrin
(because bovine's produce little or no lactoferrin). This rearrangement
means that you now have cows that produce human lactoferrin (that is if you
think these scientists know what the hell they are doing). That lactoferrin
is extracted from the milk to be used for infant formula, for drugs, for
cosmetics, etc. Lactoferrin will also be used in the meat industry to
inactivate e.coli.

This is why I have written the FDA asking them about the bovine lactoferrin
that is pending approval as GRAS. What is bovine lactoferrin, when little or
no lactoferrin is produced by cows?? The only thing I can think of is
genetically engineered. The reason a milk company from the Netherlands is
seeking GRAS status in the USA for this substance has to do with adding this
substance to infant formula. One of the things known from the patents is that
lactoferrin is protective against hiv--one of the reasons stated for adding
this stuff besides being considered active against bacteria, viruses, etc.
Some of these patents are owned by the infant formula industry. Hm.....Kinda
interesting that most people do not know that hiv is inactivated by human
lactoferrin in vitro--quite a few studies on this. I believe that the
formula companies have known it for quite some time....Valerie W. McClain,
