The Nursing Mothers Association of Australia (NMAA) is bound by a Code of
Ethics and all Consellors and members are to respect and act according to
that Code. I will need to futher inquire as to what disciplinary action is
put in place for a breach of the Code of Ethics.
This is an interesting thread, I feel it is important to recognise the
credentials of the LC's and Counsellors from Outside the US as there are
many here in this group. Is it possible that CLEAR is US based as
credentialling requirements for all professions vary from Country to Country
and in some cases State to State. Please try not to make hard workers from
countries other than the US feel as though their qualifications are not as
good, this is not the case! We are all working hard toward increasing
Breastfeeding numbers lets recognise and enjoy that. I for one would like to
know that my 18months of training as a breastfeeding Counsellor, before I
can even Counsel a Breastfeeding Mother, is worth something!
