I recently attended the PA MILC breastfeeding conference, and I seem to
remember someone saying (Coach Linda, perhaps) that an epidural can numb the
roof of the mouth, hence those babies I suspect we have all seen who will
root, latch, and then not suck, as if they do not know they have anything in
their mouths. Did I get this right? It sure seems to make sense to me,
although I will not pretend to know the biochemical/pharmacological reasons...
