Dear Lactnet Friends:

I lurk on a parenting list. Yesterday, a mother posted about her "fussy,
gassy, colicky newborn" who is being both breast and formula fed. Her baby
won't be burped. (O my god, what a terrible thing; a baby that won't be
burped is a serious clinical condition. Tongue boring hole through cheek
here!) The only thing that soothes the baby is to be held. This is another
terrible problem for her. (T.I.C. again.)

I wrote, praising her  said how lucky she was to have figured out a way to
calm her baby. I said that a newborn's operating system expects to be
carried, that she could wear the baby around the house and have someone else
carry the baby for relief. 3 other people wrote recommending Karpism.

Which do you think she will pick?

Sigh.
