Thank you Jake for that very informative post about the phone call you
received from the mom who was told to wean her 16 month old because of lack
of adequate weight gain and the concerns about domestic violence that ensued
because of how her partner was yelling, etc. I learned so much about a
subject(DV) I know I don't know enough about, esp. about asking yes/no
questions of the woman on the phone, to find out when she will be alone when
you can call her back, etc. I can't help but feel this woman has been
victimized not only by her partner, but ill-served by her probably well
meaning, but uninformed pediatrician as well. My heart goes out to her. Keep
up the good work.
