I have a son 27 who I bf until he was three. I have a daughter 21 who bf
until 5 1/2. She has said she remembers.
I have discovered something about breastfeeding benefits which is hard to
research but people who breastfed past 3 and remember might be able to give
information about this.

This is a type of body work that was developed by a women in Israel some
years ago. It is called Sphincter muscle therapy and the woman's name is
Paula Garburg. All of the sphincters in the body are connected. Through
exercises with facial sphincters one gets to areas deep inside the body and
one can feel it in ones feet.
I did this therapy after my daughter who bf until 5 1/2 was born to help to
heal an anal fissure. One of the exercises my therapist gave me used the
tongue like in breastfeeding. I started thinking that breastfeeding must
also strengthen these muscles in the baby/child. When Michal Jordan would
stick on his tongue on a jump shot -- that would be a connection and it was
said he bf until age 3. Anyway I decided to ask this daughter, Anat, who
was 2 1/2 at the time. I asked her when she breastfeeds where does she feel
it and she said in her toes. Which is also where I would feel it when I did
the therapy intensely. I have always wanted to do research on this. Since
most of the benefits of breastfeeding that are studied and known have to do
with chemistry. This aspect deals with the effect bf has on the development
of the body physically.

Subject: Were you nursed past age 3 or know someone who was?

Many of you know about the extended nursing project/book I am working on. I
have received many questionnaires so far and look forward to receiving more.

To round out the book project, I would like to add the experience of adults
(or close, 16 years and above) who were nursed past age 3 and can now share
their experience and what effects they feel like it had on them, etc. If you
are someone or if you know anyone who fits into this category, would you
please see if they are interested in participating and pass my contact
information ([log in to unmask]) on to them?

I think it would be great to have a chapter in the book with these
experiences--sort of a look down the road at "What my child will say in 15
or 20 years about our nursing relationship." Thanks so much.

All comments and suggestions welcome!

Janell
