Our senior pastor is a former "bf father" as his wife is a former LLL
leader. We spend a lot of "tlak time" in the back of the choir loft
discussing breastfeeeding--to the consternation of the director, who has
threatened to separate us for "talking." (She si very supportive of
breastfeeding; all but two of her grandhcildren were--some with my help!)

Anyway, at our church (also Lutheran, Jon) breastfeeding babies are welcome
in the sanctuary. It is easy to tell why the babies do not cry during
baptism when the senior pastor does it. He KNOWS how to handle babies!

PS His wife and I figured out that with four children--all breastfed, the
last nearly 5 years--and three tandem nursing situations in her experience,
she had somewhere between 17-21 years of breastfeeding! One of these days,
we are going to figure out how many periods she MISSED! :=)

Def. of LC service: "We are all faced with a series of great opportunities
brilliantly disguised as impossible situations."
