I have a client exclusively breastfeeding an 11 week old baby.  She
commenced taking the Micronor minipill as prescribed by her gynae at 7
weeks. My (old) British National Formulary says this contains 350mcg
norethisterone.  She had some spotting so the gynae suggested she
double-dose.  So she has been taking 2 tablets/day for the last 8 - 10 days.
For the last 4 days she thinks her breastmilk supply is lower. Would 750 mcg
norethisterone cause a depression of breastmilk production do you think?  Dr
Tom?  Dr Jack?  anyone?
