As is almost always the case, this case is multifactorial. Her
insufficient glandular tissue may have been sufficient if things went
more optimally in the first 11 days. I'm not blaming anyone, I'm just
making that point.
If she can make 75%, yes I think she can make 100%. Some moms continue
a little bit of supplement until they can discontinue it when baby
takes solids. For her to discontinue it in the nearer future, I think
she would need to continue the herbs and the domperidone longer term.
I agree with the ones you are using. And I would recommend she do alot
of close feeds like cluster feeds, more than 8 or 10 if she can
manage. Continue to optimize her recovery and nutrition, because as
the years go on, I believe more and more in good nutrition for optimal
body functioning. That's what we believe for babies, right?
