I have a 2 month old patient in my private pediatric practice whose mother
just asked me about going on the Atkin's diet (actually, she started it a few
days ago). From what I understand, this is a low-carb diet designed to put
the body into ketosis. I advised this nursing mom against this diet, but I
was wondering if anyone out there had specific concerns about a ketogenic
diet while nursing--I may need more ammunition. Thanks-
