<< family bed would not have been an option because she was so
hyperaware of her babes prescence that she would not have been able to sleep
if they had been in the same bed. What do fellow lactnetters with the family
bed experience think of this comment ? >>

Hi Lisa and all...........When suggesting shared sleep to a mother, I have
heard this comment too. I think those "hyperaware" mothers are mothers who
probably like their baby, and love their baby, but they just don't have the
intimate relationship with their baby that brings them to the point where
shared sleep seems so advantageous and so normal. They just don't want to be
that close to their baby at night when they've spent the day caring for them,
but they wouldn't dare say it, so they must come up with some excuse.
Personally, I wish they'd just honestly say, "I just don't want this baby in
bed with me!"

Just my 2 cents............Barb Gabbert-Bacon, Wichita, Kansas, USA
