Winnie... you've touched on somethign that crossed my mind when I first
read about this woman.  I wonder if her concerns, which are based on her
past experience with the first child, are exacerbating the situation.  Her
letdown could be affected by her stress... so that worrying about low
supply in the left breast is a self-fulfilling prophecy.  If she believes
the left breast is "inferior", she may have a hard time relaxing enough to
let down with the pump or the baby.

Just a thought...
