Has anyone ever come across this before? Mom with 1 week old baby
experiencing severe nipple pain, underside of nipple is flat after nursing,
tip is white with a red line. Upon examination, it was found that baby has
no frenulum. Can lack of frenulum cause these symptoms, or is something else
going on? Baby has lost one pound since birth, mom's milk supply severely
diminished. My colleague made home visit today, left mom with Lactina and
instructions to pump hourly and feed EBM with syringe until we can get
information re: the frenulum.

Quick replies appreciated!
