i just had to share something that happened this morning, as i posted
it on FB. i have been tandem or triandem nursing for almost 10 yrs
straight now & have always found it worked out best to loosely assign
breasts. never has anyone coveted having both breasts on a permanent
basis like my 5th child. he is 3.5 (the multiple food allergy & FTT
elijah rayn (" 'lou"), born breech at home, if any of that rings a
bell!) and still tandem nursing alongside his older sister. she is 5.5
and taking her sweet time about self-weaning. little did i know,
evidently much to the annoyance of her baby bro! here's a rare peek
into the subconscious desires of a tandem nursing toddler:
Jj Gruttadauria
had soft-shelled crabs. tons. i wanted to eat them
but they were still alive. in mutiny they started climbing me.
one was just under my chin & i began to bat it away...
only to wake & discover it was 'lou's hand.
his eyes fluttered open
& in his husky baby voice he whispered reverently,
"Jovie is Weaned",
& slipped back under the waves of slumber, a beatific grin upon his
face.
  ah, the dreams we hold!
