Ditto Lynn, my variation is to use the phrase:
"when your baby is more of a self-latcher"

<<I suggest transitioning themselves by latching the baby xcradle but
once the correct latch is established, bring cradling arm around and switch
arms for comfort and eventually....latch in this position! >>

In prenatal BF classes with expectant parents, and in staff orientation
classes, we use dolls and pillows and i routinely demo and get a return demo
on how to do this transition from xcradle to cradle. The simulation helps
them put it into practice later with the baby.
