This is concerning the post from Lisa Boisvert Mackenzie about a legal issue
that dealt with a breastfed child who was not gaining well.  Lisa asked for
information for the public defender who is helping the mother in this case.

A lawyer that is known to specialize in breastfeeding law is Ken Friedman.
Ken was married to Elizabeth Baldwin, also a lawyer.  Elizabeth died a few
years ago and the practice is continuing her work through Ken Friedman.
Elizabeth was a La Leche League Leader and the head of the Legal Advisory
Council (LAC) for LLLI.  Elizabeth worked tirelessly for breastfeeding
mothers through her knowledge of the law.  She worked a great deal on all
the breastfeeding legislation that different states now have.  A great deal

The LAC, that Elizabeth Baldwin belonged to, is a group of lawyers who
volunteer their time to LLLI, helping the office staff of LLLI with

who volunteer to do research on questions of legal or medical natures from
