I found this reference Genç M, Ledger WJ. Syphilis in pregnancy
(review). Sex Transm Infect 2000; 76 (2): 73-9.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10858706
Can you read Dutch (You probably could understand it if you speak
Afrikaans?) I found the reference on
http://www.zorg-en-gezondheid.be/defaultSubsite.aspx?id=9748
and http://www.gezondheid.be/index.cfm?fuseaction=art&art_id=277: sais
it is not transmitted by breastfeeding, unless there are active
syphilitic laesions on the breast.

Have you searched with search word Lues instead of syphillis?
