Dear Lactnetters: I am loving this string on ACOG and VBACs (or rather the
lack thereof). I have been working in inpatient OB since 1983 and remember
the first VBACs. They were treated as if they were walking on eggshells. In
spite of that, the births went well and when the providers realized the
patients weren't "going to blow", they were then treated like "any other
primip" (first time mom)....Then, just a few years back, I remember going to
work and hearing "they aren't going to do those (VBACs) anymore." Just like
that.... Anyway, I wanted to post this link for those of you who are
interested, or know someone interested: http://ican-online.org/ ; it is the
"International Cesarean Action Network". A great, well-informed advocacy
group.
