Hi Naomi,

While the oral contraceptives during pubertal breast development might be a factor in this case, I'm more inclined to look more deeply into the cause of the very heavy periods that indicated hormonal control in the first place ... that underlying etiology is likely more relevant than the treatment. 

If we had a larger sample of women who were on the Pill at a very young age and many of them had impaired glandular development, that would be very telling if we could also account for and tease out WHY they were on it in the first place to make sure *that* wasn't the issue ... probably a difficult sample to obtain since most pre-pubescent girls wouldn't have an other-than-medicinal reason for being prescribed oral contraceptives.
