I am recalling the 12-month appointment for my twin girls many years ago. Our
appointment was with an elderly doctor, almost ready to retire, who watched
in awe as my very upset twins (after having received vaccines) crawled up
onto my lap and somehow figured out how to latch while I sat in a very
uncomfortable chair with arms! We must have looked like a circus act and I
prepared myself for the worst barrage of why are you still doing that? Etc. He
just watched in amazement and I finally said, "What?" He just said: "That is
the most beautiful thing I have ever seen." He restored all my faith in
pediatricians and while I know there are some out there who don't believe,
there are still those that surprise you.
