I received a few private mails asking me what a DO is.
DO's , (Doctor of Osteopathy) are fully trained physicians
and licensed to perform medicine and surgery in all 50 US states.
This may vary in other countries.
DO philosophy states that the body is a hole with inherant ability
to heal itself. In addition to medicine and surgery we are also
taught manipulative medicine. Overall our training has an
emphasis on primary care and preventative medicine but DO's
do specailize in all fields .
For more info see http://www.am-osteo-assn.org/whatdo.htm
and/or http://www.osteopathic.net/public/about.shtml
