<< I'm pretty sure they were just joking but I guess the day will soon arrive,
if there are already a few parents out there tossing the idea around. >>
Two years ago, there was an ad in the Orlando Sentinel classified ads for a
wet nurse to supply breastmilk for a baby. I called the fellow who placed
the ad to inquire. He wanted the milk for his premature son. He said that
his wife must work and she had been trying to pump unsuccessfully. I
suggested that a human milk bank would be a much safer place to get human
milk and offered to give him the names of milk banks. He stated that he did
not want pasteurized milk as too many of the properties would be lost. I did
not give him my name when I called. But, about a weeks later, he called me
at my office to inquire about renting a hospital grade pump. He had found a
donor and needed a pump for her. I rented the pump and he had it for about
four months. I don't know what the outcome was.
